Child Food Intolerances/Allergies

“My child can’t concentrate or focus” Trouble concentrating? Irritable? Tired? Disturbed sleep?

If your child is experiencing lack of focus, irritability, depression, brain fog, poor memory, constipation, fatigue, headaches, moodiness, insomnia or a low immune system; they may be suffering an allergic response to one or a number of foods. Don’t be surprised if your child suffers these symptoms and not all of them. No two people are the same.


Eating foods that we are allergic or intolerant to can damage the mucosal lining of our gut and how our gut operates greatly impacts on our well-being. The gut is responsible for the production of 80% of our happy hormone, serotonin; and plays a significant role in our immune system. Many studies have proven the link between the gut and the brain, so it’s no mystery that what we eat will affect how our brain works.


At The Naturopathic Clinic we’ll work with you to undertake specific clinical testing to identify any food intolerances/allergies. These foods may not be the typical foods such as gluten, dairy, eggs or nuts; it could be onion, yeast, honey or potatoes, though it could be any foods that are regularly consumed in a person diet and it’s unique to each person. Food reactions can be delayed up to 72 hours which makes it hard to identify which foods are the problems. By testing you can get accurate answers with the benefit of not restricting your child’s diet unnecessarily.


Identifying food intolerances/allergies can change the path of your child’s life; allow them to feel happy, be confident, to focus and concentrate so they can learn.
